Our Story
Taurus Batteries South Africa was established in 2016 as a convenient warehouse facility for our existing distributor base. Our distribution network is fed from our Head Office Warehouse in Sandton, Gauteng. We pride ourselves in being able to supply to every part of the country expeditiously through our extensive network.

Our Products
The purpose of the battery is to supply the necessary current to the starter motor and the ignition system while cranking to start the engine. It also supplies additional current when the demand is higher than the alternator can supply and acts as an electrical reservoir.
A leisure battery has two functions to perform. First, it provides 12-volt power when no mains hook-up is available. Second, it acts as a reservoir, smoothing out the peaks and troughs on the caravan’s 12-volt power supply/charger system
A deep-cycle battery is a lead-acid battery designed to be regularly deeply discharged using most of its capacity. In contrast, starter batteries (e.g. most automotive batteries) are designed to deliver short, high-current bursts for cranking the engine, thus frequently discharging only a small part of their capacity.

Our Management Team has a wealth of experience and skills in the battery manufacturing industry with a combined experience of over a 100 years in top management. You can be rest assured in the quality of our products. Our technical back-up team is also on standby for continuous after sales support.

A comprehensive range of polypropylene batteries incorporates the latest technology to ensure optimum performance, life and reliability. We stock the full SABMA range of batteries whether your use is for automotive, leisure or deep cycle (solar and golf cart). In addition we also stock batteries for industrial applications such as forklifts, telephone exchange, power distribution systems and other standby applications. All our products are supplied from our ISO 9001-2015 certified factory. Every process in the factory is closely monitored to ensure the final product complies with the International Standards. All our batteries are designed to meet the IEC 60095-2006 International Standard.
